## **Context behind this raise**

Since our private beta launched to the DeSo community, we've had a lot of interest from angels and our beta users to invest in Mousai - we wanted to make room for our early supporters, friends, and family when we entered into "fundraising mode" for our institutional seed round.

## **What is Mousai?**

Mousai is the “SoundCloud of Web3”, giving independent creators – artists, podcasters, and any type of rights-holder – the ability to directly distribute and monetize their creations.

While creators distribute and monetize their work, fans are streaming, connecting with, and supporting the artists/creators they love via the platform. With no monthly fees and no ads, fans are able to easily explore upcoming music, discover growing artists, and find their new favorite song, podcast and creator. Fans back artists/creators by buying their “creator coin”, tipping, buying collectibles (NFTs), and in the future, enjoying an innovative stream-to-own monetization model.  On Mousai, fans deeply engage and connect in an interactive social community, and get rewarded for it by owning something of real value in a digital economy.

Treasury for this round will be used for:
 
- ongoing development 
- infrastructure costs (hosting, cdn, storage, etc...)
- marketing (seo, social media management)
