What other alternative security mechanisms are being used to police validator misconduct?

If validators don't produce blocks in time when it's their turn they are automatically jailed, which prevents them from producing blocks and requires a manual intervention and a cooldown period to undo.

I wondered the same thing. Thanks for asking this @clayoglesby & thx for responding @nader. I’d be keen to hear more classifications/scenarios of “misconduct” and how the system implemented protects against each one.
