Been trying to digest all of the drama around @deso right now and make further research to create an informed opinion.

I'm someone who has been mainly investing and building on DeFi-focused blockchains such as Avalanche, Ethereum, Near, Polygon, etc. in the past couple of years. I found out about decentralized social media barely a month ago through a Messari report and decided to learn more about the different players in the field, including @DeSo, Lens Protocol and Farcaster.

What I can say from my own personal experience during that journey, is that @DeSo has by far a better onboarding experience and documentation than what I could find about the other protocols. I was literally blown away of how easy it was for me to setup an account, start earning and building on @deso. On top of that, I've also felt very welcomed here!

Even though it has room for improvement, it feels to me that the technology they've already built is amazing, proven and mature. The newly released features of associations, decentralized verifications and the upcoming chat are so powerful, that I trust they'll unleash a new generation of apps that can dethrone the centralized big players.

I do believe that @Deso 's core team is currently focused on tackling the correct and most important problems (already listed by @mossified): i) Getting listed in more exchanges (wasn't that easy for me to buy and get $deso to my account), ii) Improving developer experience & tooling, iii) Moving to POS.

However, with the current state of the tech, we've already got everything we need to build almost without limits, in less than half the amount of time & money it would be required in any other blockchain. This is why I remain bullish and confident that we came at the right time to start building @Foodi on top @DeSo (it might've not been right just a couple of months ago!).

On a side note, I know how frustrating it is not getting replies, support or funding from core team members of any blockchain and/or project... trust me, I've been there a lot more times than I would've wanted. But web3 is no different than the real life: if you're not from an Ivy League university, then you're an underdog. OWN IT!.. don't let that stop you from pursuing your dreams, it will just take a lot more determination, time and effort to achieve them!
